12. Outdoor Research Helium Down Hoodie

Outdoor Research Helium Down Hoodie

Any seasoned adventurer will attest to the value of a trusty down hoodie, and the Outdoor Research Helium Down Hoodie truly sets the gold standard. The first time my partner Ryan wore this, he was astounded by how it felt feather-light, yet offered the kind of warmth that’s usually reserved for much bulkier jackets.

And if you’re caught in a surprise drizzle? No worries! Its fabric ensures top-notch water resistance. If you’re hunting for a gift that screams durability, performance, and sleek design, the Helium Down Hoodie should be your top pick.

Gregory Jade 28 daypack

Shop at:

The Gregory Jade 28 has been my latest go-to day hiking backpack. It’s very comfortable, has a very supportive waistband, and has an adjustable torso you can customize the fit based on your torso length.

There are lots of pockets for organization and the side pockets are big enough for a Nalgene. I really like that access to the main compartment is through a zipper rather than a lid with clips. It makes it really quick and easy to get in and out of the pack – this is especially important for me because Ryan can quickly grab the camera out of my pack without having to deal with a bunch of clips.

81. PACT Outdoors Wipes and Tabs

PACT Outdoor Wipes and Tabs

Shop at:

I’m so excited to try the new PACT Outdoor Wipes and Tabs after seeing so many positive reviews. One of my biggest pet peeves in the outdoors is people who improperly go #2, taking surface dumps or leaving their TP behind. These compact wipes expand into full-sized, biodegradable wipes with just a few drops of water and the tabs use a native, noninvasive species of mycelium (mushroom) to naturally break down poop in the ground faster. These products are a total game changer for the backpackers, van lifers, and campers in your life!

If you want to gift a full backcountry poop kit, I recommend pairing these tabs with this ultralight trowel and the hand sanitizer below. It’s a “silly” gift that’s actually pretty darn useful.

  1. Suggesting the JBL Clip 3 instead of the 2. The 2 was amazing while the clip lasted. The caribiner is attached to the body by a rubber piece which came out. The 3 has a metal ring around the whole and integrates the body and Biner. It’s yet to
