Inga Aksamit is a Northern California-based author who writes about eating well on the trail. Her focus is on creating delicious gourmet meals with healthy, wholesome ingredients and no fuss in the backcountry. Her recipes use foods with a minimum of additives, preservatives or processed ingredients. She is the author of “Highs and Lows on the John Muir Trail,” “The Hungry Spork: A Long Distance Hiker’s Guide to Meal Planning” and “The Hungry Spork TRAIL RECIPES.” She also founded the Healthy Gourmet Backpacking Food Group on Facebook.
